Buttocks Augmentation – Non-Surgical

A non-surgical butt lift adds subtle volume, rounds out flat or dipped areas and improves skin quality using injectable collagen stimulators or filler. It is an in-office treatment with little downtime, suited to patients who want a modest, natural improvement rather than the dramatic change of a Brazilian butt lift.

Overview

What is Non-Surgical Buttocks Augmentation?

Non-surgical buttocks augmentation is an injectable approach to adding volume and shape to the buttocks without implants or fat transfer. The most established method uses a poly-L-lactic acid biostimulator that is injected deep under the skin and stimulates your own collagen production over several months. Hyaluronic acid body fillers such as Radiesse-style calcium hydroxylapatite or large-particle HA products are also used for more immediate, if shorter-lived, results. Both are performed in the office with topical or local numbing and take roughly 30 to 60 minutes.

The treatment is used for patients who want a modest, natural lift, to fill hip dips or flattened areas, or to improve the crepey skin and dimpling that appear with age or after weight loss. It cannot deliver the projection of a Brazilian butt lift, and it is not an option for patients who want a dramatic change in size. Most people need two to three sessions spaced four to eight weeks apart, with four to ten vials of biostimulator per session depending on the area treated. Results appear gradually over three to six months and typically last two to three years.

TL;DR Summary

A non-surgical butt lift uses biostimulators or body filler to add modest volume and smooth contour in a 30 to 60 minute office visit. Expect two to three sessions, results that build over three to six months and last about two to three years, and a total cost of roughly $5,000 to $7,000. It is used for subtle improvement without surgery; it does not produce the projection of a BBL. No injectable biostimulator or dermal filler is currently FDA-approved for buttock augmentation; this is an off-label use.

Cost of Non-Surgical Buttocks Augmentation

Pricing is per vial or per session. Poly-L-lactic acid biostimulator runs around $900 per vial and a full treatment plan uses four to ten vials per session over two or three sessions, which is why most published totals start at $5,000. Hyaluronic acid body fillers cost more per volume and are rarely the better value for the buttocks.

Non-surgical buttocks augmentation is cosmetic and not covered by insurance. Compare quotes by number of vials rather than per session, since a low session price with two vials will not produce a visible result on the buttocks.

Pros and Cons of Non-Surgical Buttocks Augmentation

Pros

  • No surgery, anesthesia or incisions
  • Back to normal activity in a day or two
  • Gradual, natural-looking results
  • Improves skin texture and dimpling as well as volume
  • Good for hip dips and targeted areas
  • Works for slim patients with no donor fat for a BBL

Cons

  • Modest volume change only
  • Several sessions and many vials needed
  • Results take months to appear
  • Temporary; repeat every two to three years
  • Biostimulators cannot be dissolved if lumps form
  • Cost can approach surgical options over time

How it Works

The biostimulator is injected deep into the subcutaneous tissue in a grid or fan pattern across the areas needing volume. The poly-L-lactic acid microparticles trigger a controlled collagen response that gradually thickens the tissue, so the lift comes from your own collagen rather than from the product itself.

What it Treats

Flat or deflated buttocks, hip dips, volume loss after weight loss, mild sagging, cellulite dimpling and crepey skin on the buttocks and upper thighs.

Procedure Time

30 to 60 minutes per session, including numbing. Most plans involve two to three sessions spaced four to eight weeks apart.

Eligibility

Healthy adults seeking subtle enhancement. Not suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding, with active skin infection, with a history of keloid scarring, or for patients expecting BBL-level projection.

Recovery & Downtime

Mild soreness, swelling and bruising for a few days. Return to normal activity within one to two days; avoid heavy exercise for about a week. Massage the area several times daily for the first five days as instructed.

What to Expect Before, During, and After Non-Surgical Buttocks Augmentation

Before Treatment

Your provider assesses skin quality, volume distribution and your goals, then estimates the number of vials and sessions. Stop blood thinners, fish oil and alcohol for several days to limit bruising. Wear loose clothing to the appointment.

During Treatment

After numbing cream or local anesthetic, the product is injected with a cannula or needle across the mapped areas, then massaged to distribute it evenly. Each side takes 15 to 30 minutes. Discomfort is usually described as pressure rather than pain.

After Treatment

Expect tenderness and swelling for a few days; the initial fullness from swelling fades within a week. Follow the massage protocol daily. Collagen builds over the following months, with visible results at six to twelve weeks and full effect by about six months after the final session.

Potential Risks and Side Effects from Non-Surgical Buttocks Augmentation

Bruising, swelling and soreness

Common and temporary. Bruising fades within a week or two and soreness resolves in a few days. Ice and avoiding pressure on the area help.

Nodules or lumps

Small firm bumps can form if the biostimulator is placed too superficially or not massaged adequately. They are usually not visible and often resolve over time, but biostimulators cannot be dissolved.

Infection or vascular injury

Rare with sterile technique and cannula use. Report increasing redness, warmth, fever or skin colour changes to your provider immediately.

Injectable buttocks augmentation targets volume, contour and skin quality in the buttock area. Below are the concerns this treatment addresses, each explained on its concern page.

Genetics, age or weight loss can leave the buttocks flat or sunken. Biostimulator injections rebuild volume gradually for a rounder, fuller contour without surgery.

Significant weight loss often deflates the buttocks and leaves loose, crepey skin. Biostimulators add volume and thicken the skin, improving both shape and texture.

Hip dips and a straight hip-to-thigh line can be softened with targeted injections that fill the hollow areas and create a smoother, more proportionate silhouette.

Frequently Asked Questions

Most patients need four to ten vials per session and two to three sessions. Smaller targeted areas such as hip dips use fewer; full buttock enhancement uses more. Your provider will give a vial estimate at consultation.

Biostimulator results usually last two to three years, sometimes up to four. Hyaluronic acid fillers last 12 to 18 months. Maintenance sessions extend results.

A BBL moves your own fat for a large, permanent change but requires liposuction, surgery and weeks of restricted sitting. Biostimulators are non-surgical with minimal downtime but give modest volume. Biostimulators are used for subtle refinement or where there is little donor fat; a BBL is used for significant projection.

Initial swelling gives a preview that fades within a week. True results from collagen growth appear at six to twelve weeks and continue improving for up to six months after the last session.

Numbing cream or local anesthetic is used and most patients describe pressure and mild stinging. The area is sore for a few days afterward, similar to a deep bruise.

Yes. Unlike a BBL, there is no restriction on sitting. Your provider may ask you to avoid prolonged pressure and heavy exercise for the first few days.
